OKPE LEADERS TO TACKLE DELTA STATE GOVT

Leaders of Okpe Kingdom in Sapele and Okpe local government areas of Delta State say they are debating how best to tackle some officials of the state government on abandoned projects in the  kingdom.

The leaders are due to meet in the Okpe Union headquarters on Sunday, August 26, 2012 to debate the  state of development in the kingdom.

The leaders are expected to discuss the abandoned Sapele Market, uncompleted Sapele Stadium, burnt Orodje Market and  Sapele Polytechnic project.

The Secretary General of Okpe Union Worldwide, Mr. Henry Ebireri in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday, said the leaders are working together on detailed plans to address the challenges of the kingdom.

On the agenda for leaders attending the meeting in Lagos, Ebireri said the abandoned Okuodede- Ugborhen road, flood occasioned by downpour in Sapele, return of public schools in Okpe land to missions and poor roads in Okpe kingdom would also be discussed.

"Our number-one goal is to address the poor state of development in Okpe kingdom. We have very important responsibilities and roles to play so we are going to be setting up a working group to monitor contractors in-charge of projects in Okpe kingdom." Ebireri said.
