OLYMPIC DISAPPOINTMENT:

GOV UDUAGHAN CALLS OKAGBARE

Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has commended the doggedness
and courage of Blessing Okagbare, the Nigerian finalist at the just
concluded 100m female event of the 2012 Olympics.

The Governor said that in spite of the injury that impeded her
performance, Okagbare posted her best time ever in the Olympics
outing.

Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan,  a telephone conversation with Okagbare, late afternoon,
at about 3:30pm Nigerian time, encouraged her not to despair.

"The entire State is solidly behind you, be encouraged and do not
despair", he charged her.

He said that the State government will continue to support Okagbare
and other Nigerian athletes of Delta State origin and urged them to
remain focused and dedicated.
