Amaechi condoles with Uduaghan, over death of his mother-in-law



The Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi, has condoled with his Delta State counterpart, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, over the death of his (Uduaghan’s) mother-in-law, Madam Rebecca Ayomike.
Amaechi, who led top functionaries of Rivers State, including the State Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, to Ugbuwangue, Warri, today (Wednesday), told Mrs. Roli Uduaghan and members of the Ayomike family to take solace in the knowledge that their mother lived a fulfilled life.
He said: “You must congratulate yourselves that mama lived a good and fulfilled because you are all people to reckon with in the society. There are not many persons that have been first lady in Delta State today, but one of them is mama’s child.”
The governor explained that he would be unavoidably absent from the burial ceremony, which starts tomorrow, because of pressing official matters, stressing that he thought the burial would commence yesterday (Wednesday).
Responding on behalf of the family, the first son of the late Madam Ayomike, Mr. Emmanuel Tuoyo, thanked the Rivers State Governor for finding time in spite of his busy schedule to visit the family at their time of sorrow.

He said the family was happy because their late mother lived a good Christian life, adding that she prayed ceaselessly and brought up her children with discipline and respect for their society and neighbours as well as unity.
Governor Uduaghan was accompanied by the Delta State Commissioners for Transport, Honourable Ben Ibakpa, his Oil and Gas counterpart, Mr. Mofe Pirah, Director of Protocol, Mr. Abigor Toju, among others.
