Kidnapped Judge regains freedom
Justice Marcel Okoh of Delta astate regained freedom today, over one week after he was snatched by gun-wielding youths in the Abraka area of Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State.
Unconfirmed reported indicated that at least N6million was paid as ransom to secure his release.
Although details of how the fund was paid remained sketchy at this time, source close to the negotiators said the embattled judge was released around Asaba, the state capital between 8 and 9pm.
The newly promoted judge was traveling to Warri to resume as vacating judge on Tuesday, August 7, when he was seized by his kidnappers.
His abduction led to a solidarity strike by both the Nigeria Bar Association and his colleagues, last weekend.
The strike crippled legal activities in Warri and environs.
